MARATHON OF CONTEMPORARY MUSIC
Tehran Contemporary Music Festival proudly presents lasting nonstop marathon musical feast of new music, presenting sixteen compositions (including four world premieres!) of internationally established composers as well as music by emerging Iranian composers, in a performance of young and ambitious Iranian artists with will to specialize in a performance of contemporary music repertoire. The program consists of works by renown composers Salvatore Sciarrino, John Cage or Louis Andriessen among many others, reaching towards the works of younger Iranian generation of composers, trying to establish their works in an international scene for art. The Festival team wishes the Marathon to stay as an unforgettable experience in attempt to listen to contemporary music and hopes that each listener will find its favorite compositions or composition styles woven into the net of various faces of contemporary musical art.
